Vision and Church History

Vision

Spiritual growth is not automatic. It requires, among other things, continual training in and living out the Word of God. The goal of Inglewood Community Church is to help bring LIFE-TRANSFORMATION through the study and application of God’s Word. So come grow with us! And prepare to be transformed for God’s purpose and glory!

God has given each and every one of us a unique mix of talents, passions, and spiritual gifts. These are to be discovered, nurtured, and used for His glory and His Kingdom-building purposes. Ministry Teams offer opportunities to cultivate and utilize these God-given resources to glorify God and to edify others.

History

Inglewood Community Church began as a small church meeting in the YMCA, but moved after 1 year to a converted warehouse located at 742 N. LaBrea.  The then current Pastor and his family felt called to pastor another church and moved to fulfill God’s call.  In November of 2002, Pastors Troy and Darlene Vaughn was directed by God and elected unanimously by the Board of Directors to assume the servant leadership role of taking the church into the new millennium.  Under the leadership of Pastors Troy and Darlene Vaughn, the church has continued to grow in attendance each Sunday morning.

We are currently working on plans to relocate to a new facility in the City of Inglewood that will accommodate our growing numbers. Our current facility will be converted to our Community Outreach Center, “Refuge Resource and Referral Center which is currently operated under our non-profit arm Christ Centered Ministries.”

What we Believe

We believe… that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe… in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, and in His bodily resurrection.

We believe… the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God.

We believe… in salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe… in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as a subsequent gift to salvation.

We believe… in the provision of bodily healing in the atoning work of Jesus our Savior.

We believe… in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ and the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved unto eternal life, living eternally in the presence of God, and the lost unto eternal damnation without further opportunity of repentance.

Mission Statement

The Mission of Inglewood Community Church (ICC) is to help men and women develop a personal relationship with Christ by being obedient to His word through a disciplined life of prayer, study and service to family, the church and community.

Through our evangelistic-directed outreach component, Christ-Centered Ministries (CCM), we will develop partnerships with churches and para-church organizations. We will also develop housing projects and support programs in an effort to help individuals in recovery transition into mainstream society. (1 Timothy 4:12-13).
